Ribbon-Cutting and Film Screening

Join us for a special ribbon-cutting and reception this Friday, August 12th at 7pm for Plaza de la Raza’s Breezeway Outdoor Media Center.  The Breezeway has recently been upgraded as an outdoor teaching space and multi-media screening area for our new School of Performing & Visual Arts Multimedia Program.

This otherwise neglected outdoor space now accommodates public screenings for Plaza de la Raza’s ongoing Animation and Media instruction for local youth. The Breezeway has now become a welcoming outdoor venue that complements the center’s newly-equipped computer lab as a part of Plaza’s new digital photography, 2D animation, digital drawing and stop motion animation classes.
The Junior League of Los Angeles graciously came forward in support of this effort with a generous donation to help activate The Breezeway by providing much-needed shade and seating for all students and visitors to enjoy.  Join us on August 12th as we acknowledge and celebrate this effort with a special reception and film screening showcasing our student's work followed by the Los Angeles premier of the documentary film "Margaret Garcia: An Intimate Portrait”  produced and directed by Ruben A. Zavala.
